Paper Cranes
I’ve always been infatuated with paper cranes - it was the first origami project that I remember doing and was really proud of the way it turned out. I also really like the symbolism of paper cranes: honor, good fortune, loyalty, and longevity. Some say that anyone with the patience and commitment to fold 1,000 origami cranes would be given good fortune and granted a wish.
This project named Gathering Creativity Together was made in collaboration with the Kopanang Community Trust. I contributed a design and translate them into printed form. These prints was then documented and sent to Kopanang, where the women artists translated the imagery into colorful embroideries.
